Spot optics - standard for contour process
The simplest and most commonly used optics is the spot optics. It is used in the contour process or when a part is rotated in the laser beam.
Depending on the focal length of the lens and the diameter of the collimated beam in front of the lens, different spot diameters and, in a limited range, the working distance from optic to component can be changed.
Spot diameters of 0.5 - 3.0 mm are available as standard.
For process control with spot-optics in contour process a pyrometer is employed often.
